Leakage test rig
The TEMES ta.luft test
rig was designed for component testing of real flanged connections to
investigate gasket quality in terms of the TA-Luft (the German Clean Air Act).
Here the sealing behaviour is determined after a previous exposure to
temperature, as required in the VDI Guidelines 2440 and 2200.
The gaskets are held in
place between two flanges with special measurement bolts, which enable the
applied bolt force to be measured using digital indicators. The test flange can
then be exposed to a maximum temperature of 400 °C in an oven. After cooling,
the test flange is connected with a leakage unit. The vacuum chamber is
assembled to the test flange with clamping bolts, and the rate of leakage is
measured with a helium mass spectrometer.
Used by us
The TEMES ta.luft test rig is also used in our test laboratory. We would be delighted to determine the quality of your gaskets in terms of the TA-Luft (the German Clean Air Act) for you here. You can find more information on gasket testing at AMTEC under the menu tab Test laboratory.
